Gluten Free Traditional White Bread

This recipe uses Jack Berry™ Gluten Free Plain White Flour. This recipe makes a 1lb loaf which has a great crust, lovely texture, delicious flavour and most importantly easy to slice.


-500g of GF Plain White Flour

-60 g of melted butter

-340ml milk semi skimmed

-2 teaspoons of white vinegar

-2 teaspoons of salt

-1 tablespoon of sugar

-10 g of dried yeast


Place sieved flour into a mixing bowl. Add salt, sugar, dried yeast in turn and mix together. Then add melted butter, slightly warmed milk and vinegar. Stir the dough, leave in a bowl covered with a cloth in a warm place for an hour. After this time, mix the dough with a spoon and put it into a 1lb loaf tin greased with butter and lightly sprinkled with GF flour. Leave the dough to rise for another hour. Sprinkle the dough with water and prick it lightly with a fork, then put it in a preheated oven and bake it for 25 minutes at 200°C and another 5 minutes at 220°C. After baking, leave the oven slightly ajar for a while, then remove the bread from the loaf tin, place on a wire rack and allow to cool.

Do not slice until bread is totally cooled down.
